Where? ICM – Internationales Congress Center München
When? September 11–12, 2017

This conference takes place at the same time as drinktec and focuses on topics along the entire value chain for PET technology. PET innovations and developments are presented and discussed in detail there.

More than 30 international speakers from the suppliers’ and end-users’ side will give you an opportunity to become involved in creating and discussing solutions to market challenges that could have a direct influence on packaging, machinery and your business.

Presentations will be made in English. Details about the agenda and presentation topics are available here.

Presentation focal points:

  • Engineering and technology solutions for PET packaging and filling processes to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Reduction of material and energy consumption, sustainability
  • Barrier technologies, shelf-life improvements
  • Design, technology and convenience for bottles, caps and closures
  • Decoration of bottles and caps
  • Recycling technology

There are two top trends that will be the focus of this year's PETnology Conference: Digitalization and the circular economy.

Companies cannot afford nor do they want to close themselves off from new technology. Though digitization is getting more and more concrete, there are still many questions about what exactly digitization means to the PET industry, and every company seems to be at a different stage of implementation. During the conference, presentations on filling and preform molding, bottle production and inspection will focus on this topic, and it will also be one of the top topics in the networking area.

Circular economy

One of the main questions at the PETnology events in past years was “Are we green enough?”. It is the unanimous opinion that this question can probably never be answered with a resounding “Yes”, but making progress on this path must be the clear aim. Meanwhile more and more international, regional or even local campaigns are being initiated as more and more companies put this topic on their agenda. At PETnology Europe 2017, presentations from different parts of the PET value chain will show the most effective technologies for establishing a closed loop for PET products. In addition, participants will discuss the need to inform and educate end consumers.
