SIMEI Knowledge & Innovation Area
|Where?||Halls C2 and C3|
|When?||All days of the fair|
Helping professionals stay up to date is a key aspect of SIMEI@drinktec, which is why it features an exclusive combination of discussions and workshops on specific industry issues.
The SIMEI Knowledge & Innovation Area brings together representatives of the industry, academia and international organizations such as the CEEV, OIV, and others, the objective being to provide insights and give participants a comprehensive look at key issues affecting wine producers, bottlers and other operators. The latest technological solutions, international policies and wine-market developments will be discussed and shared with the public.
The European viticulture association CEEV (Comité Européen des Entreprises Vins) will present the results of an initiative to establish new rules regarding the product environmental footprint (PEF) of wine products that was launched as a response to Europe's need to standardize the analysis techniques used for environmental impact assessments.
A look at the effects of reforming the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2020 will also be presented.
The latest developments that pertain to bottle filling lines and food contact compliance rules are two topics that will be presented and discussed by the Glass Experimental Center research team.
The "Maremma—Land of Wine" project shows how wine producers can have themselves and their products certified by adopting an innovative approach based on both objective parameters and so-called best practices to evaluate sustainability in vineyards and cellars.
Representatives of the CERVIM (Centre for Research, Study, Safeguarding, Coordination and Development of Mountain Viticulture) will report on measures for maintaining and promoting regional wine culture. Besides technical and scientific aspects, there will also be presentations on socioeconomic and environmental themes.
