The Brewers' Meeting Point is now the place2beer
drinktec was established in the early 1950s. At the time, it was known as the "German Brewery Exhibition". Because the products and solutions of nearly 80% of all exhibitors pertain to beer, drinktec still is still very "beer oriented". Which is a good reason to give beer an appropriate platform.
The place2beer was formerly known as the Brewers' Meeting Point, which celebrated a very successful premiere at drinktec in 2013 and was very popular, and not just among brewers. By the way, at the time, more than 80 hectoliters (2,113 gallons) of beer were served there.
A place to experience, experiment and interact that occupies some 500 m2 of space awaits brewers, beer lovers and everyone that has anything to do with beer. The place2beer definitely lives up to its name: You can try beers from around the world that change each day including several specialty beers and rarities free of charge—on all five days of the fair. Naturally, Orange Spirit, which was brewed especially for drinktec, will be back with a new recipe
Besides beer and a chance to exchange ideas and information in pleasant surroundings, you can also find out about a number of new developments. We have partnered with BeverageDaily.com to put together an exciting program of lectures at this year's fair.
Details about the schedule and topics will be available in our event database as of the early summer of 2017.
Presentations will be held either in English or German.
Among other things, the lecture series will also include the following:
- Successful brewers will tell their stories and present their beers at a live tasting.
- Start-ups including new brewers with innovative ideas for special beers will introduce themselves to an international audience for the first time ever.
- There will also be additional presentations and panel discussions on exciting topics that pertain to beer such as food and beer, favorite types of beer, packaging, branding, etc.
