What they said about drinktec 2005

Volker Kronseder, Krones AG, Germany, Vorsitzender des Ausstellerbeirats der drinktec 2005: "drinktec 2005 spread a message of optimism in the sector. All the careful preparations paid off. Visitors to the fair were able to review the global market of products and services in the sector, in one compact forum. Judging by the atmosphere and activity in the halls, the exhibitors were in general very satisfied, in particular the SMEs. What proved to be a very good decision was to expand the range of the fair to include milk, liquid foods and PET. That brought a new dimension to the fair. drinktec is simply unbeatable for our global sector. Krones AG succeeded in concluding significantly more business deals at this event than four years ago. drinktec has thus exceeded our expectations. That is important because the follow-up period to one fair is also a period of preparation for the next, and drinktec 2009 will be upon us sooner than we think."

Richard Clemens, VDMA Fachverband Nahrungsmittelmaschinen und Verpackungsmaschinen, Germany: "It was an outstanding event. On all six days of the fair, the mood was positive from all quarters. Our impression was that almost all the exhibitors were happy with their success. Some reported to us that they had concluded business deals at the fair. Everyone was really enthusiastic about the very high proportion of visitors from around the world. drinktec´s unique feature is that it attracts trade visitors from all the world´s markets. That makes drinktec a top event in the sector."

Rob Miles, Ball Packaging Europe, Germany: "drinktec is a superb opportunity to meet top-ranking customers, in particular from Germany, but also from the Middle East and eastern Europe. We presented our new innovations at drinktec, and we conducted many interesting talks that will influence business in 2006. We were particularly pleased that German breweries were again inquiring about cans. That is an encouraging sign. At drinktec we signed a few deals specifically as regards the German market."

Marcus Ley, Ecolab GmbH & Co OHG, Germany: "Ecolab came along to this fair with great expectations. In particular because drinktec now covers the segment of milk drinks, which is another important aspect of our business. Our expectations were met in full, not only in terms of visitor numbers, but very much also because of the international spread and quality of the visitors, and the talks we had with them. This confirms for us that drinktec is the number one global platform for innovations in beverages, brewing and now also milk processing."

Jürgen Henke, GEA Group, Germany: "drinktec has once again fulfilled all our expectations. Not only did we have a large number of visitors at our stand, but those people were very knowledgeable and came from a wide spread of countries. This expertise among the visitors is very important to us, as our solutions in systems engineering, processing technology and the various components are very complex to explain. The GEA companies represented this time at drinktec – GEA Ecoflex, GEA Diessel, GEA Wiegand, GEA Filtration, Tuchenhagen, Tuchenhagen Brewery Systems, Tuchenhagen Dairy Systems and Westfalia Separator – were extremely happy with the communication platform created by drinktec."

Dr Thomas Bühler, Huppmann AG, Germany: "The quality of visitors was excellent. The top players from around the world came along to our stand, and also visitors from up-and-coming markets like Africa. drinktec has a very high reputation as a forum for contacts, image presentation and benchmarking."

Valentin Reisgen, KHS AG, Germany: "We welcomed customers from all over the world at the KHS stand. Our concept of maximum customer-orientation, reflected both in the technological innovations and in the stand concept, received an excellent response. This was confirmed to us from all sides. Our conclusion is that drinktec was a resounding success for KHS. “

Alexander Büchler, PETplanet Publisher GmbH, Germany: "Congratulations to drinktec in Munich. As organisers of PETpoint, which had 110 exhibitors, we worked with drinktec this year for the first time. Our focus on PET bottles met with enthusiastic interest from the international visitors. For a capital-goods fair, we succeeded in attracting an unusually high number of orders placed at the fair. We were therefore not surprised that the majority of our participants will be coming back to drinktec in 2009, but with more machinery and taking up more space."

Luitpold Prinz von Bayern, Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg, Germany: "At drinktec, all the key exhibitors were present. This was a very efficient forum for us, and it saved us many tens of thousands of air miles. My employees are involved here in preparing investment decisions for the next year."

Rüdiger Selig, Siemens AG, Germany: "The contacts and talks we had here were higher in quality than at the last drinktec, more targeted and we talked about specific projects. We conclude from this that there is a trend towards more investment in the sector. Siemens will also be exhibiting at the next drinktec, with a broad and innovative range of products for the beverages and liquid food industries."

Mongi Goundi, Sinalco, Germany: "Everything worked wonderfully. Our partners from 45 countries in the world all came to Munich to drinktec. We were also able to make many promising new contacts. There is no better business platform than this one. We will most certainly be back next time."

Hans-Peter Voss, Wild GmbH & Co.KG, Germany: "Our expectations were far exceeded. drinktec is a super marketplace where the entire sector comes together for a few days. Exhibitors and visitors alike are all committed to innovations. We had a good response from visitors from all over the world, including from many company owners and top executives. There were more visitors this year from the US, Japan and Brazil than four years ago. For us this event was not just about presenting our products, we were also able to conclude specific business deals."

Werner Witting, Wirtschaftsvereinigung Alkoholfreie Getränke, Germany: "I found drinktec to be an excellent interface where we as an association were able to make all kinds of new contacts, in particular with fillers who offer soft drinks but whose core business lies in other areas."

Ruth Evans, Brewing, Food & Beverage Industry Suppliers Association, Great Britain: "drinktec 2005 was once more a truly international marketplace for the beverages industry, and exhibitors from Great Britain were able to meet prospective customers here from all over the world. The Brewing Industry International Awards, which were presented at the fair, were an excellent presentation platform for the brewing industry."

Giulio Cicognani, Sacmi, Italy: "drinktec 2005 was a very positive fair for the Sacmi Group. We talked to many highly expert professionals from the sector at our stand, above all from North, South and Central America, and from the Middle East. We received a number of specific technical inquiries from customers who want to expand certain projects. These concerned in particular aseptic filling, logistics and labelling. The Sacmi Group used drinktec to position itself as a global player for large-scale projects, and that is exactly what we achieved."

Fabio Bertolini, Simonazzi, Italy: "For Simonazzi drinktec was a great success. We had many high-quality visitors at our stand; the atmosphere was very pleasant and we talked to them about specific projects, and started planning them. It was our goal to present state-of-the-art technology at an attractive and impressive stand. I think we achieved that. Our machines went down very well with the visitors."

SIPA Plastic Packaging Systems, Italy: "For SIPA drinktec 2005 was a most successful fair. It was particularly noticeable that the visitors to our stand were very highly qualified decision-makers. Most of our visitors had projects that indicated the situation on the market is improving. For us drinktec is one of the most important fairs and we are already looking forward to 2009!"

Peter J. Fahnenbruch, Husky, Canada: "This was our first time at drinktec, and we are really very impressed. The trade audience in the halls is very international and the people are all very expert. At our stand we talked to customers from all over the world, and were also able to attract new customers. We will most certainly be back at the next drinktec."

Berry Metselaar, Stork Food & Dairy Systems, Netherlands: "This is the first time we exhibited at drinktec. Our customers are in the milk industry and the fruit-juice industry. We talked to a lot of Americans and Asians at our stand, and in the milk industry, above all visitors from Norway, Sweden and South Africa."

Reto Morger, Netstal-Maschinen AG, Switzerland: "PETpoint has found the right location in drinktec in Munich, where it can reach its target audience. Everything for filling and packaging products is found here under one roof. The trade audience is very international."

Christiane Lehmann, Coca Cola, USA: "Our employees from around the world meet up at drinktec. In total around 250 of them travelled to Munich, over 40 of them from the headquarters in Atlanta – buyers, technical directors and managers from Coca Cola´s filling companies. They are here to find out about the latest technology. All the main suppliers to Coca Cola exhibit at drinktec, plus laboratories and institutes with whom we work."

Michael Bogardus, Hartness International, USA: "This is the best show in the history of our company. The visitors here are of a very high standard and show great interest in our products. All the major soft drinks manufacturers and brewers from the US came along to our stand. And we were able to make new business contacts with people from Latin America and China."

John Perkins, MeadWestvaco Packaging Systems, USA: "We had high expectations of drinktec 2005 and the event met these in full. The visitors here reflect the international spectrum of the world´s markets. It was just the right place to present our solutions and capabilities in packaging. Because of the quality and diversity among the visitors to drinktec 2005, we were able to achieve our acquisition goals. We talked to existing customers and reached many new target groups as well. We are very satisfied with the result."

Charles D. Yuska, Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute, USA: "This was a great show. This was my first time here, and my impression was that this show is an absolute must for anyone in the beverages industry. The time and money spent by exhibitors here, particularly the main ones, is very impressive. They are all here – all the key suppliers and their customers."

Pall Food & Beverage, USA: "Congratulations to drinktec 2005 - it was a well balanced fair with many top visitiors from across the food and beverages industry, from firms large and small. It was a first-class event with a perfect atmosphere. For Pall the fair was a huge success. We had over 500 good leads and met several thousand trade visitors at our stand. We were able to close a significant number of deals."
