Exhibitors
from 70 and visitors from 170 countries – yes, drinktec is big. Very big. And
very international. But another very interesting fact is that over half the
stands take up less than 50 square metres of floor space each and are often
occupied by family businesses. And it is no different on the visitors’ side –
just as many small and medium-sized filling companies, often family-owned, are
represented at drinktec as globally-operating corporate groups. Small and
medium-sized companies are the heart of drinktec. We spoke with some owners of
SMEs, exhibitors and visitors.

Q: How would you characterize
drinktec? A: drinktec
is a trade fair that generates global recognition and interest. All the very
best in the brewing and beverage industry is there. Because drinktec takes
place in Munich,
many visitors also succumb to the charm of this cosmopolitan city which can
always be felt at this – and only this – fair. Q: What are your reasons for
exhibiting at drinktec? A: As a medium-sized engineering company BMS Maschinenfabrik has a chance at
drinktec to cultivate contacts with all our customers from all over the world
in an informal setting. We also have the opportunity to draw the wider public’s
attention to us, and in particular to give young professionals, such as
students of brewing and beverage technology, a pleasant experience to remember
us by. After all, they are the future managers in this industry, Q: Which markets and target
groups do you want to reach at drinktec? A: The target groups for BMS Maschinenfabrik GmbH are small and medium-sized
breweries and other companies in the beverage industry, which are looking for
solutions tailored precisely to their business. We are also interested in
finding companies that place importance on the personal contact and individual
support that major industrial companies can no longer offer in the same way. Q: Why is it also worth
representatives from small and medium-sized companies visiting drinktec? A: For one thing it is easier to make international
contacts, as so many visitors from abroad attend the fair. Also the
effectiveness of advertising for the national industry must not be
underestimated, and this brings results for these companies in particular. |

Q: How would you characterize
drinktec? A: drinktec is the leading world fair for beverage
technology, which appeals equally to all industries that produce beverages. Q: What are your reasons for exhibiting
at drinktec? A: This fair presents the best opportunity for us
to present our range to the market, gain new customers and promote interest in
our products. Q: Which markets and target
groups do you want to reach at drinktec? A: All beverage manufacturers who use return
systems for distribution, and also providers of container pools and producers
of reusable containers. Q: Why is it also worth
representatives from small and medium-sized companies visiting drinktec? A: It is the only place where visitors have the chance to come in contact
with so many suppliers and companies from their industry. As the fair is so
big, lasts for six days and has so many exhibitors, there are a great many
opportunities for visitors to get right up-to-date. Many exhibitors have
specialised in offering innovative solutions for SMEs in particular. |

Q: How would you characterize
drinktec? A: drinktec
is the leading fair for beverage technology, every beverage producer finds what
they are looking for here. The fair is certainly unparalleled in the world. Q: What are your reasons for
exhibiting at drinktec? A: drinktec
is the ‘Who’s Who’ of the beverage scene and we are a part of it. Because the
public is so international, the fair offers the opportunity to make new
contacts and of course also to cultivate existing contacts. Q: Which markets and target
groups do you want to reach at drinktec? A: All
those which need a labelling machine, from small companies to large enterprises. Q: Why is it also worth
representatives from small and medium-sized companies visiting drinktec? A: Size alone is no guarantee of success for a company. Many small and
medium-sized businesses will emerge from the current economic crisis as
winners, we have seen that over the past six months. |

Georg
Schneider VI, Director, Private Weissbierbrauerei G. Schneider & Sohn GmbH
(Schneider-Weisse), Germany I have a particularly emotional connection with this
fair, because my father used to bring me here when I was a child. At that time
it was still called Interbrau, but then as now I was fascinated by the
machinery and systems on display. For me drinktec is quite simply the most
important industry gathering. This is the place where former fellow students,
brewery experts and competitors come to meet and talk. And the exhibitors
always seem to manage to present new developments and innovations at their
stands. Stefan Hoechter, Managing Director, Adelholzener
Alpenquellen, Germany Not only is drinktec one of the international
key trade fairs in the field of beverage technology. It is also the ideal place
for cultivating business contacts to partners and suppliers. The fact that the
fair takes place in Munich – and thus more or less at our door step – makes it
a set date in our diary.“
