The trade-fair centre is about 20 minutes from the city center by subway.
Important information regarding the use of local public transport
Please
note that the entrance tickets to Messe München´s events which take place from 1 January 2011 onwards no
longer entitle holders to free use of local public transport. Messe München´s
visitors and exhibitors who use local public transport to get to the events
must now buy a travel ticket, at their
own expense.
For information on the
arrangements for guest events held at Messe München´s
venues, please contact the respective organisers.
MVV tickets for any means of
public transport can be obtained from ticket machines (S- and U-Bahn stops), at
ticket offices (kiosks etc.) or in regional buses. You will get single tickets
and day tickets also from ticket machines in trams and busses. Please have some
small coins ready!
For your trip to the trade
fair centre we recommend single or day tickets, e. g. an "Innenraum" day ticket
(inner district - municipal area) for one person, a "Gesamtnetz" day ticket
(entire network - incl. the airport) for one person, an airport-city day ticket
or a "1 zone" ticket for one person for a single trip from the
municipal area to the trade fair centre. All tickets must be validated in a
blue ticket-cancelling machine before you start your trip, except for tickets
from bus and tram ticket machines. These are already validated.
The U2 subway runs from 4:12 to about 1:00 after midnight. It goes straight to the New
Munich Trade Fair Centre / ICM ("Messestadt West" and "Messestadt Ost"
stations.)
During peak periods from monday to friday the U2 runs at 5-minute intervals: 07:30 - 10:10 (from Hauptbahnhof) 15:10 - 18:55 (from Messestadt West)
